WREATH #1 Back in the Zen

Hard to believe how long it's been since I last posted. I haven't been drawing in so long it is almost like starting all over. 

This piece below is something I did to get back into my Zen mode. I enjoyed it very much. I met a new friend and I was totally inspired of her wreaths that she does so well. So, I gave it a try and will surely do more of these.

RAINBOW CIRCLES - AUNT PATTY'S DESK

Here is a desk I am doing for my Aunt Patty.

She inspires me to be creative every day. 

Anyway, I am not done yet but I am working on this 

and decided to start posting as I go...

STEP 1 - STRIPPED ALL OLD VARNISH AND SANDED HER DOWN.

STEP 2 - WIPED DOWN WITH ALCOHOL TO GET ALL SAW DUST OFF

STEP 3 - SPRAY PAINTED FRAME BLACK

STEP 4 - MASKED OFF THE FRAME AND SPRAY PAINTED HER "SEASIDE" BUT AS YOU SEE, IT CAME OUT MORE OF A TURQUOISE COLOR, WHICH IS WAY BETTER THAN I WAS EXPECTING.

BOUGHT SOME SPONGE BALLS AT WALLY WORLD - 2 DIFFERENT SIZES

INVESTED IN SOME NEW PAINTS - OOO, RAINBOW!

My sweet Aunt Patty (a St. Patrick's Day Baby) celebrated her birthday a few weeks ago and I made her two gifts.

Quilt Picture Frame

Isn't she adorable. Yes she is!

Step-by-Step

Painted the back of the frame Jet Black.

Divided up the squares on a cheap wooden picture 

frame I found at Wally World.

Started painting the squares in random spots.

Went ahead and decorated the yellow squares.

This past summer I was rearranging my living area and had tore my desk apart to clean out the drawers. My cat, Boots, decided this was a perfect place to take a nap. I love that bad cat.
